I keep hearing about mistrust by the public. What's this about?
I should preface, I'm a Science Communicator. I'm in love with my trade, science is amazing. I will always be a die hard fan. So, I'm not here to poo poo on science.
Social media people rip science a new one on these platforms. What's up with that? Do you think it's the job of the scientist to run around plotting evil deeds on the public? No, that's politicians' jobs.
One of the new, cool things happening in science is this: PEST (Public Engagement of Science and Technology). <-- This puts science into the hands of the audience. You guys want to get involved in the making of the world, now's your chance.
I'm starting things off with the research I'm working on at TCD in Dublin, Ireland. All are welcome to come in and talk. Hang out on the web, engage, read and comment on blog stuff, but most importantly: TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW. We need to suck the knowledge out of your heads.
Researchers these days are scrambling to tackle the next big thing, and I've got to be honest: the digital citizen is it (that's you if you're online).
Come talk to me here
Come follow what's happening here
Tell us what we did wrong in making this post. Just simply say anything. <-- You can say that word, "anything." We think you guys are interested, confirm your interest.
Thanks - Bigfoot crew.
